TRANSPORT & HIGHWAYS
Trains

We are fortunate to have good access from Tadworth Station to regular services, via East Croydon, to Victoria, Charing Cross, London Bridge, Gatwick Airport and the South Coast. Tadworth is one stop from the end of the line at Tattenham Corner. The TWRA monitors our local rail station to ensure good levels of security and tidiness.
Buses

The local Metrobus bus services through our villages are very limited. On weekdays there are regular services to Epsom, Sutton, Reigate and Redhill, however there are no services after early evening, slightly more limited services on Saturdays, and very limited services on Sundays or Bank Holidays.
Route 420:
Sutton, Banstead, Tadworth, Reigate, Redhill, East Surrey Hospital, Whitebushes, Gatwick Airport, Crawley
Route 460:
Epsom, Tattenham Corner, Tadworth, Reigate, Redhill, East Surrey Hospital, Whitebushes, Horley, Gatwick Airport, Crawley
A Metrobus service map for all services can be seen here, and a local map for the routes within Epsom, Tadworth and Leatherhead is available here.
Parking

The issue of parking remains an ongoing concern for residents of both villages, although changes in recent years have alleviated problems in some areas.

The TWRA responds to Surrey County Council consultations that take place from time to time, making suggestions where we feel there is scope for improvements on safety grounds, and expressing concerns where proposed parking changes would adversely impact residents.

Residents with concerns about persistent parking issues that affect them can contact the TWRA to draw these to our attention. If you wish to report problematic or inconsiderate parking directly, this can be done here at Surrey County Council’s website.
Highways

With Surrey the most congested county in the country, road congestion is an increasing issue. Indeed, Reigate & Banstead has one of the highest car ownership rates in the South East region. Planned increases in housing throughout the South East will have the effect of increasing both local traffic and vehicles passing through the borough.

It is vital to keep our villages as free of congestion and as safe as possible. One result of the pressure on our roads is the serious deterioration in road surfaces and this can be exacerbated by low temperatures. As in the rest of the county, many local roads are in urgent need of repair, however the highways budget will only cover resurfacing of major roads and patching of minor roads.

Potholes and other highways issues (flooding, lighting issues, signage problems, maintenance issues, etc.) can be reported directly to Surrey County Council via their website – there are 16 different categories of highways-related things that are reportable there!

Planned roadworks and road closures for the Reigate & Banstead area for the coming week can be seen via the link on the TWRA home page (car icon) which also includes National Highways updates for the local area.

More details of roadworks, etc. across Surrey can be seen at the SCC website.
